With this I will also be able to look at dropping out of school on a generation. I will hopefully be able to interview them here over the next couple days. I realize not all people drop out for the same reasons, and that dropping out doesn't mean that you can't do anything with your life; after all my great-grandfather was a multimillionaire despite never finishing the 8th grade.
There are many studies that different organizations and colleges have done on the affects of dropping out that will provide a lot of great information for my paper. I am personally interested in all of this information because these are the stories of some of the greatest fighters in our community. Despite what most people would view as all the odds stacked against them, many of them succeed. It is also important to recognize the reasons why people drop out and see if we can change the system to help those kids.
I'm interested to know about the different reasons why students drop out because they vary drastically. Good topic.
ReplyDeleteThis is an interesting topic because it seems like dropping out of school is always viewed negatively, like you can't do anything if you don't finish school. I'm curious to see the reasons that people decide to stop going to school.
ReplyDeleteIts always sad to see a fellow student drop out of high school, for any reason. Hopefully this will shed some light on the outcomes of dropping out, good and bad.
ReplyDeleteIt's really cool that you can tie your family into the topic. It sounds like a good plan.
ReplyDeleteThis would be such a good project to read when your feeling like you want school to end. (like your senior year)
ReplyDeleteYou are going to be able to find a lot of studies and statistics based on this topic so it should be fairly easy!
ReplyDeleteUsing your own family as resources will help you out and make things easier. It seems like an interesting topic.
ReplyDeleteI love the angle you're taking towards the subject, instead of judging people for dropping out you are trying to understand why.
ReplyDeletelol good pug photo bruh
ReplyDeleteno for a comment with some substance;
interviewing people who have dropped out of high school. I know last year or the year before, The Parkviewer did a story about kids who dropped from this school and followed up with them on how they were doing. You should check it out.

ReplyDeleteInteresting topic!
ReplyDeleteI applaud all entrepreneurs who, a lot of the time, don't have a formal education, but still manager to be extremely successful. Maybe you could look into why some dropouts are so successful while others are not.
ReplyDeleteI work with a girl that dropped out of High School, Parkview actually, because she was bullied. She immediately went to OTC and got her GED and even continued her education. There are many reasons that people drop out; this should be a good topic!
ReplyDeleteThis is a really good topic. I wonder if you could find a student here who dropped out and came back.
